The best context for multi-ethnic churches?
In a private conversation with Al Barth, from the Redeemer Church Planting centre his opinion was that household churches can be one of the best contexts (not the only!) for creating multi-ethnic churches. Because of the size – difficult inter-cultural relational issues and differences are able to be worked through and celebrated more easily. Thus creating a true community, that is truely inter-cultural and multi-ethnic.
Larger churches may have many different ethnic groups attending but the question I ask is whether they are truly being an intercultural community with one another? Or merely occupying the same building at certain given times?
What do you think?
